Weekly Challenge #295

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

It is a continuation of Reticula and Fragments over at i am the diva this week. Here is my fragment and finished tile. I used a spray of a couple of different colors of liquid watercolors for the color on this one.

Cris Letoureau, kindly put a pattern on her blog for a wonderful star, that of course I had to try out. I didn’t do the fragment version, but will try that one later, but I just had to do at least one. I think that I will have to make a bunch more of these lovelies! I’m thinking they will be my package adornments this year.

Finally, here is my November Tanglelendar. Stephanie, at Everything is Art, has these on her blog and I have been having fun with them. This one I did print out on some older light gray cardstock that I had around, but I found that shading on the laid paper was anything but fun…. I won’t be doing that again. I also had a chance to try out some of the new tangles released from Zentangle Headquarters. See your nearest CZT if you want to learn how to do them.

Weekly Challenge #294

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

Short and sweet this week. I will post more if I have the time later, but a busy week ahead, so for now, the challenge this week from the diva is to use fragments and reticula. Here is my fragment and the reticula using the fragment.

I also played around a little bit more with Keeko, from last weeks challenge.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Weekly Challenge #293

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

The challenge over at the diva is Keeko this week. I used it very simply for my first one to create a frame. With Thanksgiving coming up next week I wanted to remember to give thanks for all the support that you have shown me over the past couple of years both for my art, and for me as I have struggled with my new reality with Hubby. I am truly blessed to have this supportive group of fellow tanglers to help me out on my journey. Thank You!

As for the second, just some more playing around. Keeko wrapped in a spiral with the morph from Keeko to Nekton, for the background.

IAST #170

Happy Friday!

I had a little extra time this week and decided to tackle It’s a String Thing. It was a simplicity theme. The string was nice and simple, and only two tangles. Oke, by Michele Beauchamp, and Jelly Legs, by Amber Davis. Here is what I came up with. Didn’t turn out to be that simple of a tile, but I had fun with it. Still in that fall mood, so added a bit of pastel to this one.

Weekly Challenge #292

It’s use my tangle week over at i am the diva and we are using EAXY, a tangle by Nadine Roller, CZT. I had started this Renaissance tile that I had sprayed with a couple of colors of liquid watercolors, with the beginnings of Gourdeous, so decided that I would finish that out, and use EAXY as the background. I didn’t find this an easy tangle to keep even, so decided to embrace the going with the flow, and just let it change scale as it wanted to. My chop even fits in this one and almost becomes part of the pattern. I am still in my fall kick, so added a bit of color pencil to brighten it up here and there. I think that is is going to become a card for Thanksgiving for my Hubby.

Weekly Challenge #291

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!

I hope that you all had a great Halloween. The challenge this week from the diva was a Halloween theme tile. This one gave me fits, but I am posting it anyway. Didn’t have my normal watercolors around, so used some old ones at school for this tile. The moon started out white and I added the crescent moon to it using a gray marker and a metallic Gelly roll pen. Then decided that I wanted to add some yellow to it…. Big mistake! Started with a Tombow marker which started to smear the marker and pen. Stopped having done just an edge of the moon. So on to plan B. Use the watercolors to watercolor over the moon… smeared everything more. Quick rinse it under running water, which washed off all the smears and faded the crescent moon, but salvaged the tile. Add the yellow with colored pencil. Done for this week at least. Not quite what I was planning, but so it goes.

Tangles used, Crescent Moon and Widgets

I also decided this month to do one of Stephanie@Everything is Art, tanglelendar. You can find her calendar pages here. I had fun with this, and my kids at work liked watching how it came along during the month.

 Happy Hump Day!
