Weekly Challenge #189

Greetings to everyone today! Laura and family were celebrating Thanksgiving in Canada this week, so we waited a day for the, i am the diva challenge to come out. It looks like they had a fabulous time! Our challenge this week was a UMT,  “Yuma” by Tina-AKUA, CZT. You can find the step outs for her tangle here. I decided to actually make it a mono-tangle for this first go around, and add a bit of fall color too. I like the overall way that it turned out but was unhappy with the Black ink smearing a bit when I went in with my colorless blender to blend the color pencil that I had added. I have not had that happen before. No time at the moment to re-do, as it’s back into Parent/Teacher conferences for me this evening. Maybe later in the week I can try another.

Here is another of the Bijou tiles using Hypnotic. I think it’s going to go into a necklace for later this month!

My thanks to you for stopping by, and also to those who leave such lovely comments!
You make my day!
Have a great week and Tangle On!

  2. The tiles are very different; the one delicate and subtle, both in style and in colour, the other, bold and dramatic. Very nice work.

  5. lovely tile as always, I like the Yuma within Yuma idea. I certainly can't see any smudges of black - I think that sort of thing is in the eye of the artist. So well drawn and coloured

  10. they're both pretty. I like the color pallette in your challenge tile, and the shiny quality of the orange and black pice...I see why you want to make a pendant of it. Your precision of line is impeccable in both pieces. Well done!

  11. Beautiful Yuma Tile. Love the close up Yuma pattern framing the fill Yuma Pattern. Such a creative design. Wonderful use of color and the pen work makes a wonderful shimmer. The Bijou Tile is lovely, bright, and colorful. It will certainly make an attractive necklace.

  19. Love both tiles. Do you coat the tile with acrylic before making the necklace? I have though about making some jewelry with the designs, but am so busy playing with them that I haven't gotten around to it.

  20. I like. The tangle inside the tangle idea! And the black smearing you speak of doesn't show up at all in my view. Nice.
