Weekly Challenge #286

Greeting Fellow Tanglers!

The challenge over at i am the diva this week is Straight to It!

Straight lines for everything, or at least as straight as I can make them! I started out with a string that used my initials. I found that I really really had to concentrate on those straight lines, so it wasn’t a zen for me as it could have been. In the first tile I used IX, Nexton, and Paradox. I found that there was not as much contrast as I would have liked so I used some shading to hopefully help with that.

On my second tile, I again used my initials for the string and for tangles used a straight line version of Piza, Palreva, Phroz, Shattuck, Knase and Braze.

Finally, I had had enough of the straight lines and decided to throw some curves into an artist trading card.

The Diva and her Niece also had a fine time at Paint Nite. I had to include my photo from the night my friend Stacy and I went to Paint Nite, here in Minnesota. Same subject, different color palette.

Thanks for stopping by, and for all of your lovely comments!
They do make my day!
Have a great weekend and Tangle on!

  1. A lovely card and two beautiful tiles. My favorite is the second one, I like everything on this tile: the tangles, the contrasts, the composition, really very nice.

  2. Made me laugh, Lady Kate! You did some lovely straight line tangles but I like how you just had to follow them up with some gorgeous curves too! Like your big flower painting too. Axxx

  6. Beautiful tiles with quite a wonderful variety of tangles and contrast. I can't imagine the concentration. I could barely do two tangles! Good thinking to create your lovely Mooka tile. Very nice painting:)

  14. Both tiles are fantastic, I see what you mean with the first one but I think you have overcome that with your shading. It has a relaxed feel and the paradox gives a sense of flow. The second tile is much more dynamic. I usually like compositions with strong contrast but I think your first one just edges in as the favourite for me. Lovely work!
