Greetings Fellow
Tanglers!
Happy Valentine’s Day
Everyone!
I have been busy doing
all sorts of hearty things. Here are a few for the Valentange, diva challenge. In
in the first one I used Ratoon with a twist. Instead of using rice shaped seeds
I replaced them with hearts. I had to work a bit larger with this one, so the
circle is about 6 ½ inches in diameter, done on Bristol board with watercolor,
pen and graphite.
Then I had a little fun
with a Zendala and some Bijou tiles. The love you is going to end up becoming a
card before the day is over.
My students also got
into the act this week and we also made some hearts. The first two are from my
6th grade kiddos and since it was their first time tangling and
their first tile, we used the basics of Crescent moon, Tortuca, Hollibaugh, and
Knightsbridge.
This batch is from my
exploring art 7/8 class. These kiddos used Bales, Yincut, Bunzo and Marasu. I
was very pleased with all of their work and the kids really liked making these.
I even had some that stayed after school to make a few more or requested extra
tiles to take home.
Lastly, Here is my tile for challenge #384, a UMT, Anthem
by Jody Genvese, CZT. It reminds me of ice crystals and with all the cold and
snow here it seemed to fit right in.
Have a wonderful weekend
everyone.
Thanks for stopping by,
and for all of your lovely comments!
They do make my day!
Have a great week and
Tangle on!
My favorite this week is your Heart-Ratoon, a wonderful idea! Your Anthem tile shows the cold around your place but the lots of hearts let us hope, spring would be come soon. Your students did beautiful work too.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! I love that you did these with your students--I really enjoyed seeing their work.
ReplyDeleteThat Ratoon (with hearts) is gorgeous!!!! I LOVE it :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for the students and the teacher, "lovely" work!!! I love your tile with Anthem, for most of us this pattern reminds to crystals and especially with blue it looks great! The Ratoon tile is wonderful but my fave is the 2nd one, so much 3D effect and of course, I love your embellished letters, great work Kate!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tiles all! I have been working on a heart Ratoon and yours is fabulous. Quite lovely. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful work, all of it! I really love the 2nd tile with the single heart wrapped up in beautiful ribbon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! They are all great, but I especially love your Ratoon tile with the hearts.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! These are all so delightful!!! Your students are so fortunate, Kate, that you offer them the gift of Zentangle. I love their tiles! And your Anthem ... brrrrrrrrrrrr! So well done. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use Rantoon with hearts. Also the other tiles are gorgious, not to forget your students tiles. Wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteHi I just found your widgets pattern and your blog. I was wondering if you offer any classes for the general public. Or do you have to be in middle school to have you as a teacher?
ReplyDeleteI do occasionally have adults classes. If you are interested in having me do a class for you, please go to zentangle.com and you can find my contact information there. Look under Learn, Find a certified Zentangle teacher, and enter my name. Thanks for your interest.
