Weekly Challenge #227

Greetings everyone! Imagine my great delight and surprise when I logged on this week to the challenge over at i am the diva! Guest blogger, Lee Darter, picked my tangle Tropicana to be used in her Circus Life challenge this week! I am so honored that I will be able to see how all you great artists out there use it in your tiles.

Here is my tile for Circus Life! It is my life these days, but not quite in the intended meaning!

As many of you know I am still getting used to my “new normal” since my Husband is now in memory care for his dementia.

I truly thank you all for this gift!

Have a great week and Tangle On!

  3. Your tile is truly beautiful. The blue, the shading, the white pencil ... not the mention the way you executed each tangle. Well done.

My father-in-law suffered from alzheimers; it was difficult at every point. I will pray for you.

  9. Kate, I'm so very sorry to hear about your husband. My mother had Alzheimer's and my husband is suffering from early stages of dementia, so my heart goes out to you and I'm sending you healing hugs and best wishes for your "new normal". I absolutely LOVE your tile this week and it is so beautifully executed. Your color on this piece is beautifully done, may I ask what medium you used to get this beautiful effect. Mine is finished, but I am afraid I will post it late as I need to get a battery for my camera so I can take a picture. Again, beautiful tile!

  10. I just love Tropicana! It is one of my top 3 go to tangles. I teach it in my advanced class. Everyone just thinks it's great, so many ways to use it and ways to tangelate it. Life is always throwing us curve balls, but I am so glad you had this week to shine! Your tile is awesome and the blue just makes is pop! Big, Big HUG!

  14. I'm so glad this came at a time in your life when you needed it. My heart goes out to you.

Your tangle Tropicana is beautiful, and I'm so glad it was used in the challenge because I might have missed it otherwise. It looks complicated, but it is really elegant and simple. I'm sure it will become one of my staples.

Your tile is gorgeous, too. Love the blue shading.

  17. Kate - You commented earlier how flattered you were when I used your Tropicana pattern in my circus tile. So I've just posted a ZIA I just completed on my blog that uses Tropicana as one of the main elements. I thought you'd enjoy seeing it at tangleddudz.blogspot.com. Hope all is well as can be in your new normal.
