Weekly Challenge #123

An interesting challenge was presented this week over at; i am the diva by guest blogger, CZT Maria Vennekens.

Just like my blog, (bare with me on the learning curve) this week’s response to the challenge feels like a work in progress.

Wow, I had the brain slamming back and forth with this one. It was different, but in some ways similar, however, I have always been one of those that were drawing all around my notes, on napkins, on envelopes, or pretty much any piece of paper that was in front of me. For me, after learning the way of Zentangle®, this was a difficult challenge to do because of the memory bank of tangle patterns I now have.  Questions arose while working, like is this an already existing pattern, is it truly Zentagle? Could I take parts of what I did and re-work it to become a Zentangle pattern, that’s new, or a Zentangle? Perhaps.

I think that I would label these more of an exploration, on the way to something more. It was more like a sketchbook study, versus a finished tile of art. For whatever it’s worth, here are my works in progress for this challenge.

By the way, I am still exploring the sea theme ZIA’s that emerged from last weeks challenge. Stay tuned or follow me to see more of these tiles soon.

  6. Your "works in progress" as you called them are lovely. I personally think that those of you who have been drawing, or doodling, for years, have a leg up on this challenge. Yours are wonderful.

  7. Love what you did for the callenge. Your ZIA's look very modern, I see a little Steampunk!
