Weekly Challenge #387

Greetings Fellow Tanglers!
I had a bit of a break from tangling while I took a short ski trip with some friends last week. We all had a great time exploring the slopes and the area.

Go Narrows Ski Team!

This week’s diva challenge is a use my tangle from Holly Atwater. I was introduced to her tangle HaWy for the first time. I found that it was a high focus tangle and while that usually doesn’t bother me, this time around I totally lost my focus. Managed to get about half of it “correct” but the rest of it just decided to meander off on it’s own.  I added some coffering, some color, shading, highlights, and there you have it, my tile for this challenge. It reminds me of some sort of crazy tinker toy set.

Thanks for stopping by, and for all of your lovely comments!
They do make my day!
Have a great week and Tangle on!

  1. Kate, I love what you did with haWy! It made me look up Holly's stepouts and now I'm off to try it myself! Thank you. :)

    1. Just know that mine went off grid.... part of it is the way it should be, the rest went off the rails. Kind of like my school week! 🙂

  2. Same for me here but after some practising I dared to start with the tile. I love yours!!! the colors made it!
Looks like you had a lot of fun on your ski trip.

    1. Thanks we did have a grand time. You just have to go with the flow some times when those Tangles just want to go rouge!

  3. I love the way you let the Oopses guide you! The result is great!

  4. Wow, what a great pic, everyone looks so happy...
It is a wonderful contribution for Laura's challenge, although it is a difficult tangle!

  5. Hi Kate!
That ski trip looks like it was a lot of fun! Love the photo of you with your friends.

I absolutely ADORE that you let haWy lead you in the direction that it wanted to go... It's fantastic! Your use of color really accents the fun shapes also! It is a high focus tangle... I found that with a bit of practice it suddenly reveals that the complicated shape is fairly simple at it's core. Thank you for giving haWy a try! It was so much fun for me to see your lovely take and beautiful tile!
